NOTD: Mavala Candy Floss

Hello Lovelies, 

I've been having rather darker nails recently and thought I'd go for something a bit on the lighter, more cheerful side when I painted them yesterday. I chose to use Mavala's Candy Floss which is part of their 'Delicious colours' S/S '12 collection. 

The quality of the polish seems to be pretty good, this is what two coats looks like. I was expecting it to be on the pale side but it's actually quite a bright bubblegum pink. Definitely a colour I'll get more use of in the summer.

October Wins 2012

Over the last month or so I've been lucky enough to win or else receive some of the prizes I've previously won. 

First up I had a small parcel package and opened it to find loads of those little foamy things and right in the middle was this set of nail varnishes! I've never won anything before that I hadn't known was coming so it was a great surprise and I love it. 

It's a shame I didn't have these earlier on in the year, but I don't see why you can't wear pastely colours in winter too. They're all so pretty :)

Next up is this sweet little tea pot keyring which I won from the Marks and Spencer free magazine that they do. Around the time of the Queen's Jubilee they had lots of things you could win by emailing them your details, so that's what I did.

Lastly, I won this Max Factor 2000 calorie mascara from their Facebook page. I'll review this once I've tried it out.

Life's a box of chocolates

I mentioned in my latest Sunday Summary that I had received a really great prize this week, or at least I think it is anyway. After saying the other day that I haven't really entered many competitions lately, I had a surprise email to say I'd won a prize from the LG Arena Facebook page. I emailed back straight away and it arrived just two days later!

It was a Thornton's Best of British Hamper which contains a couple of Thornton's classic selections as well as some more unusual British themed items. These include banana and custard and cherry bakewell chocolate bar blocks, and jam roly poly chocolates! It was all beautifully presented in this lovely picnic hamper and I am over the moon (to coin a very British idiom!). 

Thanks again to the LG Arena for a lovely prize :)

Some More Wins

Hello,

By now you'll probably know that I love entering competitions and I sometimes share what I've won. In the last couple of weeks I've not really entered many competitions (I need to get on top of this!), but I've been receiving things that I won last month or before. 

One of my biggest wins so far is this collection of Canderel. I mentioned it a couple of weeks ago, and just received it on Tuesday. They describe it as a year's supply, but I think this will probably last me much much longer. I've never really used sweetener before and I've promised some to my sister as she uses it all the time in her coffee. With over 2000 of the tablets alone I'm sure there'll be enough to go around!

The lovely people at Canderel also threw in some of their promotional goodies like pens, a tea towel and even a USB stick! If you're reading this Canderel, Thank You :)

I also won this Garnier face wash from their Facebook page. It was really nicely packed! They're quite often having competitions on there or giving away samples, it's worth checking out. 

Lastly, I won this black mint shower gel from Original Source. It was won via Twitter by re-tweeting them and at the time I didn't realise it was for men! I'm using it anyway and I don't think it really makes a difference. It's such a strong, fresh mint smell, good for waking you up in the morning.

Some August Wins

As I know many of you like seeing my wins, here are a few I've had this month. 

Sorry the top pics are dull but you know my camera is rubbish and my photgraphy skills are little better!
The above pics are self explanatory and the pic below shows a Wheetabix tin that I won on their Facebook page. I think I'm turning into a bit of a granny as I caught myself thinking how useful it would be for storing things. Nail polishes perhaps.

I also had a bit of a surprise last week when I was told I'd won a year's worth of Canderel. I was supposed to ring them up by tomorrow and confirm delivery details but it completely went out of my head. Hopefully if I ring tomorrow morning they will still let me have it.

So there you go, those are the things that I have won this month!

Revlon ColorBurst Lip Butter

As you may know by now, I like to enter competitions in my spare time. Last week I was lucky enough to receive not one, but two of these lipsticks that I won through the Revlon Facebook page. They were giving away 100 a day, each day a different colour.

When they arrived they were beautifully packaged which made receiving them that extra bit special.

I was even more impressed to open them and find some sweets inside!

There are 20 shades in the range; the two I won are Peach Parfait and Berry Smoothie. They are both gorgeous and luckily are colours I will actually wear and pull off!

I'd describe Peach Parfait as a coral shade, with both peachy and pink tones, whereas Berry Smoothie is a slightly richer, pink shade. Both shades have glittery particles that made the lipstick quite shimmery looking. There are also 18 other shades! The lip butters glide on incredibly well and have all the qualities of a lip balm in a lipstick, with mango, shea and cocoa butters to moisturise lips. They RRP at £7.99 and are available at Boots, Superdrug, etc.

Pretty pleased with these!

My Big Win!

I'm so excited right now! Today I received this in the post:

As you can see, I knew I was getting it, but now it's here it's really real! Now I just need to decide what to spend it on :)

I've been entering competitions regularly for a few months  now and have become somewhat addicted, but I'd completely forgotten about this as it was so long ago. This is my first what I'd call 'big win' (others include tights, sun lotion, shower gel, a book) and I'd say I've been quite lucky so far. 

Does anyone else enter competitions? What's your best win?
